“THE ORIGINAL TWO”
Synopsis:
In 2022 as a result of unlawful, Vaccine mandates across Canada, two trucker protests erupted. The smaller of the two was at the Coutts border crossing in Alberta.
Out of the chaos came what seemed to everyone involved to be an absurd claim by the government that four men were conspiring to assassinate RCMP officers.
Those four men were used to invoke the Emergencies Act (of which the government was found guilty of using illegally in a Canadian Court) and held in prison for over 700 days without a trial.
Finally two of the men were offered a plea bargain and released.
The other two decided to continue to fight what they have argued are false accusations. They are still in prison.
The film “The Original Two” is the story of Chris Carbert and Tony Olienik and their struggle to prove their innocence.
Using interviews with Lawyers, friends, courtroom documents, and the two men themselves, we will examine how our so-called Canadian justice system has treated these men.
The Original Two will reveal, for the first time, the truth behind the devastating, ongoing attack on these two men by the Crown, the RCMP & a Media that has helped to portray them as murderous, subversives rather than the good, hardworking Alberta men, they truly are.
In a country where violent offenders are routinely released on the bail the very same day as they commit their crimes, why are these two men still in jail?

Todd Michael Harris started working as a film-maker in 2010. He has worked on everything from Episodic television to Music Videos, to Feature Films.
In September 2021 he released the feature documentary, “LOVE IN THE TIME OF COVID" and in July 2022 he released a second feature documentary, “UNINFORMED CONSENT”. It has been translated into 6 languages, and has been seen by millions of viewers around the planet.
In the past two years he released “The Big Picture” starring RFK Jr. and “The People vs. David & Collet Stephan”. Both films had international success.
His latest film - “Epiphany: The TrueHope Battle” wrapped up its Canadian tour in late May 2025.
